After School Academy
Introduction
As a young Muslim living in the west, various challenges and questions are posed to the minds of young children. The constant pressure from one’s peers and various media has led to a stealthy decline in this generation’s moral and religious outlook. The struggle and battle to negotiate a position for themselves in wider society while staying true to their religious ideals, added to the abovementioned pressures has translated into an insecurity and lack of confidence in Islam.
The reality is that most Muslim children do not attend full time Islamic Schools, creating a gap in their interaction with Islam and the masjid. There is a dire need for our children to interact with Islam, the masjid, and our local scholarship daily.
It is for this reason; we felt the need to establish the After-School Academy (ASA) programs for all children.
Vision
Our vision is to establish a dynamic after-school Islamic Studies and Quran program that empowers our next generation. We aim to foster spiritual and moral growth in our children and youth. Our program focuses on promoting a deep understanding of the Quran, teaching recitation, and Tafsir (exegesis). We are dedicated to instilling Islamic values and ethics, guiding students to live according to Islamic principles and emulate the character of Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him). Ultimately, our Islamic studies classes serve as a platform to discuss contemporary issues through an Islamic lens. Our goal is to shape future leaders who lead by example.
