School Operations

Seera Weekend School is managed and operated by a dedicated group of volunteer parents. These volunteers take on both faculty and administrative roles, ensuring the smooth functioning of the school. Instruction is delivered in both English and Arabic, by a highly motivated team of professional instructors and volunteers.

Academic Schedule

The school operates throughout the academic year, following the same calendar as the East Baton Rouge Public School System, with a summer break. Classes are held on Saturdays and Sundays from 10:00 AM to 1:30 PM.

After classroom instruction, Zuhr prayers are held in a group setting from 1:15 PM to 1:30 PM. These prayers include participation from both children and parents, fostering a sense of community and shared religious experience.

Curriculum and Programs

The educational program at Seera Weekend School is designed to provide students with a strong foundation in the Quran and the Sunnah/Seera. This background equips students with knowledge and values they can rely on as adults. For high school students, the school offers seminar-style classes, where current issues are discussed in the context of the Quran, Seera, and Sunnah.

Community Services

In addition to educational activities, Seera Weekend School provides a variety of services to the community. These include organizing prayers, hosting seminars, celebrating religious occasions, and participating in community service events.
